The new Medieval Museum will be located in Börshuset at Stortorget in the Old Town. Until then, discover the Middle Ages with our city walks.

FAQ the Medieval Museum moving

Find the answers to some of the frequently asked questions about the Medieval Museum moving to a new location.

The Medieval Museum’s premises under the Norrbro bridge will be taken over by the Administrative Office of the Swedish Parliament, which owns the majority of the premises. The Administrative Office of the Swedish Parliament needs the premises under Norrbro for its own activities.

The new Medieval Museum will situated in Börshuset at Stortorget in the Old Town next to the Stockholm's medieval Cathedral and Stockholm's oldest street, Köpmangatan.

We do not know yet when the new Medieval Museum can open in Börshuset. At present, the Nobel Prize Museum is renting the premises in Börshuset but will in due time be moving to a new premises at Slussen. 

The Medieval Museum will leave the premises under Norrbro on Helgeandsholmen in 2024. In order to have time to pack objects and offices, the museum is closed for visitors from November 6, 2023.
